Running Time: 7:00 Date: 01/08/2014 Implementation of a new software solution should not be considered as a 'one-off' - it's an ever-evolving process. When it comes to upgrading technology, many accounting practices have the perception that it’s their current systems that aren’t meeting their business requirements. But according to Sam Allert, Managing Director of the Accountants Group at Reckon, this isn’t always the case. Sam says it’s often an education problem or a process gap internally. He says it’s all too easy to blame the software or tool for not achieving a particular outcome, when the real crux of the problem is related to particular processes that might have been implemented around a piece of software, or even what the team is doing. Sam says software is ever-evolving, and to avoid having to overhaul your technology completely, you should invest in your team, invest in training, and most importantly, invest in technology on an ongoing basis.
